Arriving in Helsinki
Helsinki’s nearest airport is Helsinki-Vantaa airport. From the airport, there are many easy connections to the city center (train station). The new train connection is the easiest and fastest (every 10 min.; duration: ca. 30 min. to center; cost: € 5,50). Helsinki is also easily reached by ferries from Stockholm (overnight trips) and from Tallinn (several ferries, duration ca. 2 hours). There is also a direct train connection to St. Petersburg (4 hours).

Throughout Helsinki’s city center, there is a free and fast Wi-Fi connection provided by the City of Helsinki. In and around the University of Helsinki, one can gain access to the internet using eduroam. If you have already an eduroam user account from your home institution, you can use this to gain access at the University of Helsinki.
